It is estimated that over 1 billion people are connected to the internet. But there’s another, more sobering statistic that is in fact quite disturbing. According to a United Nations agency, one in six people in the world—or more than 1 billion—is now hungry, a historic high due largely to the global economic crisis and stubbornly high food prices. And these people aren’t solely the province of poor, third world countries. Many of the world’s hungry live—more correctly, eke out an existence—in wealthy, top tier, economic powers. Hopefully you’re not one of the hungry. But you can certainly help them—boost your income so that you can start giving back, and helping those in need.
